I wasn't a TBI-Survivor spouse - until I was. In January 2005 my husband, David, and I began a new journey. We weren't prepared. No colorful brochures of exotic places cluttered our tables. No flight or cruise reservations made. No suitcases packed. But when TBI came knocking, we answered. We had no choice. It's a long and arduous journey. When TBI moved in, it was an unwanted stranger that I knew nothing about it. I was lost. I searched for books to guide me, but they were few. After living with David's TBI for more than thirteen years, I've learned a lot about this unwelcome guest. I wrote a book, "Prisoner Without Bars: A Caregiver's Tale," which chronicles David's and my journey on the TBI roller coaster. "Prisoner Without Bars," written with emotional honesty, is not only a story of David’s struggle, but it is also a love story that offers hope and inspiration. Though it addresses a dire topic, it is peppered with comedic situations. Prisoner without Bars: A Caregiver's Tale will release on November 1, 2018. I am eager for you to read our story. You can pre-oder the book at Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Prisoners-Without-Bars-Caregivers-Tale/dp/1608082059/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=) Barnes & Noble (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/prisoners-without-bars-donna-odonnell-figurski/1128186229?ean=9781608082056) Donna View all posts by donnaodonnellfigurski
